Students can choose from more than 70 organizations and societies and over 30 sporting clubs such as the Underwater Club, Outdoor Club and the Rowing Club. The UWA Outdoor Club is one of the most popular clubs on campus and is a great way for study-abroad students to experience the stunning natural environment of Perth and Western Australia. Members of the club participate in various activities such as rock-climbing, kayaking, windsurfing and hiking. New people, new adventures, and great times are waiting for beginners as well as experienced adventurers who join the club. The UWA Student Guild, which is the oldest student guild in Australia, organizes countless activities such as the Guild Ball, weekly entertainment at the Tavern, a campus band and DJ competition, and clubs ranging from UWA Surfriders to Solid Gold, the funkiest club on campus.
