Located about 40 minutes outside of the city center, is Deakin’s main campus in Burwood. In this green, leafy neighborhood, you will find a traditional style campus layout, with architecture that reflects the youthfulness and creativity of Melbourne. The Burwood campus offers a self-contained “village,” where students like to stay on campus in between classes, sneak in a quick workout at the gym, hit the student bar/bistro or meet at the Corner Café for a cup of latte before heading off to their next class.
University Facts
- Deakin University is home to the only dolphin and whale research group in Australia. It also combines a semester of coursework with a three-week work placement in the marine sciences industry.

Eligibility
Students should have sophomore standing at a two-year or four-year degree-granting institution at the time of enrollment at Deakin University. Deakin University also requires that applicants have a minimum GPA of 2.6, although students with a lower GPA are encouraged to apply and may be admitted on a case-by-case basis.
