Pre-Semester Trips

Study Australia offers special pre-semester trips for those adventure-loving students looking to jumpstart their travel experiences before classes start. These trips are generally one-week in length, and are organized by Study Australia staff members, but utilize professional local guides to insure your safety and cultural immersion. Past destinations include the Fiji Islands, the South Island of New Zealand, a Reef and Rafting program along the eastern coast and another trip to the beautiful Great Barrier Reef.

Studying in Australia and New Zealand is a great base to explore the many unique countries tat make up the Pacific Rim. Taking advantage of this ideal location, we offer organized excursions throughout Australia, New Zealand, Thailand and Fiji and provide guidance to students who choose to discover China, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia and other Pacific Island destinations such as Tahiti or the Cook Islands.

Our exclusive excursions, generally one-week in length, are easy and convenient ways to travel around the Pacific Rim. Organized by our staff members and using professional local guides to insure your safety and cultural immersion, these excursions provide excellent value. We design our excursions around academic calendars, thereby ensuring that students can explore the Pacific Rim without interference with classes or campus life. Recent excursions include the Fiji Islands, the South Island of New Zealand, the beautiful Great Barrier Reef, Spring Break in Thailand and an insider's look at Melbourne.

All excursions revolve around the academic calendar, allowing students to travel without interference with classes or campus life.
One long trip can be less expensive and more convenient than multiple last-minute weekend trips because costs are fixed and surprise expenditures are less likely.
While Australia and New Zealand are safe countries for young travelers, a guided tour is a great way to start the semester. After participating in one of these guided tours, students will be better prepared to plan and execute their own adventures during the semester.
Experienced staff and guides provide unique insights into the local culture and help ensure safety and enjoyment for all participants.

In addition, our resident directors organize other local activities just for our participants. Past examples have included rugby/football game outings, a trip to the Commonwealth Games, a trip to the Australian Open, International Comedy Festivals, and more!
