Study Australia has outlined the steps for completing the full degree application process below. The application for admission at each overseas university is slightly different.

Step #1: Create a Study Australia Virtual Application

In order to better assist you, we ask that you complete the Study Australia Virtual Application found at https://www.study-australia.com/crm/myaccount/. Please complete the following sections and submit your Virtual Application to Study Australia.

  • Personal Details
  • Academic History
  • Supplemental Information
  • Within the Personal Statement section, please write in the overseas university you wish to attend, the type of degree you wish to earn, and the course name and/or description as it is listed on each university's online course guide.
  • Apply for the full degree program. Do a Quick Search for your program by entering either of the following:
    • Undergraduate Full Degree
    • Graduate Full Degree

Within 1 - 2 business days, Study Australia will contact you regarding your program of interest and give you more information.

Step #2 - Host University Application

Once you have completed your Study Australia Virtual Application and have chosen your specific full degree program, Study Australia will send you a packet of information and instructions on completing the application for your chosen degree. Once you have completed the application form and the supplement application items, mail the entire completed application to Study Australia. Study Australia will then send your application to your chosen host university free of charge.

Step #3 - Submit Supporting Documents

Transcripts
You will be required to submit transcripts from all high school coursework for undergraduate degree applicants, and transcripts from university coursework for all transferring undergraduate and graduate degree applicants. Study Australia urges you to request transcripts early, as these can take a lengthy amount of time to obtain.

References
Study Australia recommends that you submit two references with your full degree application, as admissions requirements can be more competitive and strict. We recommend that you have one academic reference from either a high school teacher or college professor, and one employer reference. If you do not have an employer reference, two academic references are fine. If you have been out of school for a while and no longer have an academic reference, two employer references are acceptable.

If a reference form is not included in the overseas university's application, have your reference type a one page letter on letterhead addressed to the admissions office at your chosen university. Please have your referer send the letter of reference to Study Australia so that we can submit a complete application to the overseas university.

Personal Statement
Study Australia recommends that applicants write a 2-page essay answering questions such as why you want to pursue a full degree abroad, how this degree fits in with your career goals, and what relevant international experience you have.

If you are applying for a PhD program or Master's degree by research, you are required to submit a 3 - 5 page research proposal, outlining the research you plan to undertake. This proposal should also include past research you have undertaken in your field.

Other Supporting Documents

Copy of Passport
Please make a clear copy of the first page of your passport and include it with the other application materials. A faxed copy of your passport is ususally not legible and will not be accepted by an overseas university. If you do not have a passport or your passport has expired, please apply for a new passport as soon as possible as it takes up to 8 weeks to receive a passport. For information on ordering and renewing a passport, please visit www.usps.com/passport

Copy of Diploma
While not every overseas university requires this, Study Australia asks that you submit a photocopy of the diploma from the highest educational level you have attained. If you are applying to an undergraduate degree program, this would be a copy of your high school diploma. If you are applying to a Master's degree program, this would be a copy of your Bachelor's degree.

Portolios and Samples
If you are appyling to a writing program, such as creative writing or journalism, you will need to submit writing samples and/or published works. Simply send these with your application.

If you are applying to a fine arts program, such as art or music, you must submit samples of your work with your application. These could be digital photos on a CD, a recording of a performance on a cassette tape or DVD, or published on a website.

Syllabi of Previous Coursework
If you are planning to transfer to an overseas university to complete a degree, you are required to submit copies of syllabi of all coursework you have completed at the college level.
