Internships — Program Fees

Program fees will vary based on a variety of factors including duration of placement, location and housing preferences. Please review the Program and Dates page for specific inclusions for each internship type. Fee schedules for 2010 are listed below; 2011 fees will be announced in Fall 2010.

Financial Assistance

Because of visa regulations, all internships are unpaid. Loans, scholarships and grants may be available depending on the type of internship program you undertake. In addition, check with your home institution for the availability of financial assistance and whether any current financial aid can be applied to this program.

Deposits

A USD$300 program deposit is due with the Internship Application. In addition, all participants using Study Australia housing will be subject to a refundable housing deposit of USD$300.

Payment Deadline Requirements

To participate in any aspect of the program, students must pay all fees in full by the set deadlines, which the participant will receive upon acceptance to the program. The deadline to apply for the internship programs is 4-5 months prior to the internship start date and varies based on your visa status.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

Notice of cancellation of a program application must be made in writing.

Application Fee of USD $100 and late fees: not applied to the overall program fee and are non-refundable.

Program Deposit of USD $300: applied to the overall program and is refundable based on the following conditions:

Student withdraws four weeks before the intended start date and we have had at least ten weeks to find a placement and we have not successfully secured a placement.
Study Australia determines it cannot find an internship in the applicant's field of choice. We have successfully places over 90% of our applicatns, but should we not be able to find the ideal internship, we will give the student as much notice as possible.

Final program fee cancellations received before 42 days before the program commencement date will receive a refund on any secondary program deposits, if any were required from Study Australia (does not include the initial deposit of USD $300). Participants may also be liable for any non-refundable costs paid by Study Australia on behalf of the applicant. Examples of these costs would be non-refundable housing or visa fees, etc.
